From announcement, Dead Good provided a steady support stream to publisher THQ Nordic, including consultancy, previews, interviews, digital showcase slots and media hands-on opportunities, as well as a tone setting EDGE magazine cover feature. Dead Good pitched and executed a pre-launch event for REANIMAL in London, hosting a curated list of UK and EU content creators and media. They were given the opportunity to play the game, interview the developers, plus enjoy a raft of fun, REANIMAL-themed experiences, including a selfie station (with social media hashtags), art gallery, cocktail menu, bar snacks and cake pops. This supported the launch with additional coverage alongside reviews.
By managing an effective media launch strategy for NA, UK and selected key EU territories, we ensured that 40+ Metacritic reviews dropped within 30 minutes of the embargo lifting, with all platforms represented (PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch 2). By the end of week 1, over 100+ reviews were placed worldwide. In tandem, the Dead Good influencer team also delivered 1,075 pieces of organic coverage, 29.1 million combined views (YouTube, Twitch, TikTok & Instagram), 446 million combined reach, and 1.4 million hours watched. Standouts at launch included interviews with Tarsier in the likes of Polygon, The Escapist and the Friends Per Second podcast, accolades from IGN, Areajugones, Game Informer, Jeux Video, Comic Book, Nintendo Life and Multiplayer. And finally, creator Nikoheart who fashioned a one-of-a-kind controller to play REANIMAL out of a battery-operated lantern from the recent pre-launch event.
